What Are You Worshiping?

Today's verse is Genesis 22:16
And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

As children of Adam and Eve, we have a tendency to focus on, even worship anything other than God himself, even if we have purposed in our hearts to be his devoted followers. God had made Abraham a promise, which is reconfirmed after this verse, yet, when God commanded of him to sacrifice his son, his beloved son, the son that was to be the fulfillment of God’s promise, Abraham did not hesitate through he probably did not understand, he did not hesitate to obey God. The one that created heaven and earth was more important to him then what God had promised, yet he counted God as faithful to his promise, even as he prepared to sacrifice his son the object of the promise. He showed himself, as well as us, that he worshiped and followed God his creator over everything else. Who or what do you worship? Who or what is your focus? Is it what God has you doing? Something else entirely? Or is it God, the one that made you, the one that offers you Salvation from your sin? Selah [Think on this] and choose to Worship and Follow God alone. Amen.

To God be the Glory
