Let God Fulfill His Word

Today's verse is Genesis 16:2
And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

Do you believe God has made you a promise? Do you believe that something is not as it should be? God does not need your, nor my, help! Indeed, he has given you something to do, as followers of Jesus Christ our chief responsibility is to proclaim the wonderful works of God to all that we pass by. We also have the responsibility to do some of the mundane things as cleaning the house, fixing diner, and such like, but what God has said he would do, just watch and let God do it. For if we try to help God with such things we only sin and muddy the outcome, as Sarai did here. Sarai’s (Sarah, later on because of all of what transpired) motive was good, but she did not believe God fully, and tried to help God fulfill his promise to Abram, (Abraham) but her good intention only led to unintended consequences, which could have been avoided by fully trusting in God, and letting God do as he had already said. So let us keep our eyes upon the one that created Heaven and Earth, who died for our sins, even rising again on the third day, and do the things he has set before us, leaving to him to do the miracles. Amen.

To God be the Glory
