Jesus' Response To Our Sin

Today's verse is Matthew 26:75
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Even those of us who have accepted the gift of God through Jesus Christ sin--This is not license for consider what John wrote: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: . . .” We are ever to strive against sin, even unto blood, but when we sin, even such as Peter did as he denied his Savior, who I am sure he would count this among the greatest of his sins, we still have an advocate with the father. Jesus knew Peter, just as he knows us, telling Peter what he would do, he knows you, and what you shall do tomorrow, and he loves you just the same, and died for you just the same. So confess your sin, and he is faithful and just to forgive your sin and cleanse you from all unrighteousness, just as John also said. Amen.
