When faced with circumstances that seemed contrary to the promises God had made him, Jacob repeated those promises back to the God he choose to trust. And as he trusted in his God, God worked, and what Jacob feared most did not happen. Consider what Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” And consider also its context, even some of the things that have happened this last year, and know that what God had promised, none of it shall fail to come true, even if some of it may seem to be contrary one to another. So watch, be faithful, and keep his commandments, tell others of his wonderful works, and we shall see, as all of his Word is fulfilled. Amen.
