As Christians, or even better, as Followers of Christ, we that have received Christ, have some taste, to one degree or another, the profit, these described here despise. Some of us know the comfort he has given to us in the darkest of times. Some of us know the heights he has enabled us to obtain. Some of us have seen him do great wonders, causing us to be in Awe of his Majesty. Paul said, “. . . despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?” to the question, “Will you escape judgment?” In the things that I mentioned above, Jesus told us not to glory, but if we are to glory, glory in this, that our name is written in the book of life. What profit is there to serve God? What profit is there to praying to the Lord most High? That by his mercy we might escape that which we deserve, eternal damnation, and instead, gain everlasting life, in the presence of the Good God of Love and Justice. Selah [Think on This.] Amen.
To God be the Glory
