After Job first appraises Wisdom, and Understanding, describing to us how hard it is to find, and what its worth is, in this one little verse he tells us how to find it. Wisdom is fearing God, and because we fear God, that is to say, we know that if we transgress, doing that which is displeasing to him, we shall have to face his wrath. But if we forsake evil (anything that displeases God) we shall have our eyes opened, and we shall then understand. I confess, I still have a way to go, to understanding this second part of the verse, but from my experience, as I conform to God’s Word and Will, doing that which he leads me in, the more in time, I understand. So Selah [Think about this.] Amen.
