What We Are To God
Today's verse is Acts 17:25
Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
Many accuse God as some tyrant, demanding of others for his own enrichment, yet as we see here, we have nothing that we could give God, we have nothing he needs. The things that he demands of us are not for his own profit, for what can we give him that he does not already have? We have nothing, we are nothing! Yet, still God ascribes unto us value that we cannot even imagine, For he sent that which he values most, his own Son, who took our place, and suffered our own Judgment, even our punishment, that we might have opportunity to come to him, not as servants, but as sons, dear children that he cherishes. Consider, what we ought to do then, because of his love for us, and what his reaction would be if we refuse his gift? Selah. [Think about this!] Amen.
