Seeking Reassurance, Or Change?
Today's verse is I Samuel 23:4
Then David inquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
After David’s men spoke of their Fear, David once again asks the Lord the same question he just asked. When Balaam returned to ask again, though the Lord will did not change, his answer did. But, God was gracious unto David for his men’s sake and confirmed the answer. We are all frail, and often need reassurances, but once you know what God wants of you, he does not change, and his purpose for you will not change, whatever the circumstance you may find yourself in to the contrary. So whatever the circumstance you do find yourself, Trust God, lean not to your understanding, even as you seek to understand, and acknowledge God, and his Word in all that you do, and your path will become clear as you follow him. Amen.
