God Has Great Things For His Servants

Today's verse is 2 Samuel 7:16
And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

Today we see David receiving from God concerning David’s house and that the Throne of David, that is to say that there will always be a descendant of David to rule Israel. This is fulfilled in Jesus Christ. We also read today of the beginning of the final phase of Paul’s ministry, that Paul would testify of Jesus Christ before kings, even before Caesar. The thing is, God has not made such Grand promises just to David, nor just to Paul, but to all that name the name of Jesus Christ and that suffer with him for the sake of the lost. Consider; “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” This promise is made to each of us, if we but seek to follow him no matter the cost he might ask of us, considering only the price he paid for each of us, knowing that whatever he asks of us, we will not suffer in vain. So Today, will you choose Christ, and the task he has set before you? Even if he has not yet shown it to you? Selah [Think of this.] Amen.

To God be the Glory
Scott
