Opportunity To Lead

Today's verse is I Samuel 22:2
And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men. 

We see here that the men that God sent David would make a great group of pirates. Yet David had already lead men in battle, and he had already learned the value of order in the camp. As diverse and undesirable as these men were, David lead them to obey him, thus also God and turned them into men of honor. They went to David seeking escape from their troubles, much from their own making, Yet to stay with David, he taught them to be responsible men. As you follow God, he will give you opportunity to lead others to the right way by showing them how to rely not upon themselves, but upon the God that loves them. Selah [Think upon this] Amen.
