Precious Redemption
Today's verse is Psalm 49:7-8
None of them can by any means redeem his brother,
Nor give to God a ransom for him:
(For the redemption of their soul is precious,
And it ceaseth for ever:)
Here we begin to see the value of a soul, and the cost of sin. None of us has the ability to redeem another, for all of us have need of redemption. Here also the psalmist declares that once a soul is redeemed it will stay redeemed. So is there one that can redeem even one soul. Happily, the answer to that question is yes, a resounding YES! Not only can this one redeem one, or even just one Nation, for this is a thing too light for him, so he does greater: This one can redeem all that come to him, not a one will be turned away. Who is this one, you ask? None other then the LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS: Jesus Christ. Let us rejoice in the one who took our place, that we might stand in the presence of the Father as if in his. Amen.
To God be the Glory
