How Could God Let This Happen?

 

Today's verse is John 11:21

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

   True, Jesus was not physically present when Lazarus died, but Jesus is God and he has already shown us that he is everywhere present even as he dwelt on Earth in a physical body. As to the latter part of her statement, do we not all also think such things, or even, how can God allow such a thing, happen? We have already been told that Jesus delayed on purpose. . . That is God had a purpose for Lazarus dying. Is there something you think, if God be God, that such a thing could not have happened? Put such thoughts from your mind. God is God, and the thing happened, give God the Glory, and look for how God will be glorified in that event. Have we not been told, that we know all things work together for good? Selah [Think on this.] Amen.
