Requested Guidance

Today's verse is Psalm 5:8
     Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies;
      Make thy way straight before my face.

In another place we are told that if we trust God, and acknowledge him in all of our ways, he will direct our paths, but others have attempted to change this to making our paths straight. Now, compare that passage and its promise with the one above. Note that the way that is to be made straight is God’s way not ours, it is God’s righteousness that we ought to seek, and such is the psalmist prayer. This is a prayer that God so much wants to answer for each and every one of us, if we but truly desire it, and ask for it with an unfeigned heart. So trust him with all that you are (with all your heart) and seek out his counsel in his Word, obeying all that you understand, and as the psalmist asks here and as he promised it that other place, He will make his way straight before you. Amen.
