The Compassionate Savior

Today's verse is Hebrews 2:18
For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Here is a Marvel and a Mystery, our Savior having had been tempted as we are, yet without sin, does not look upon us with contempt, but with compassion. Who of us has not heard stories, if not encountered someone that having experienced and overcome some failing having contempt for those that did not. Such is not our God and Savior. He knows all of our faults, and has experienced all of the temptations that we face, and succumbed to none of them, yet having Mastered the flesh, he gives us succor, even as we fail, and he invites us to come to him as we are tempted, both for forgiveness, and strength to overcome through him. Amen.
