God's Work Recognized
Today's verse is Genesis 39:2
And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
In Job, we see that God, himself, takes credit for what he allows Satan to do, and here, after most of God’s purpose is revealed, Joseph having seen what God is doing, declares to his brethren, what a good God has done through their evil actions. While it is obvious, in the context of the surrounding passage that Joseph did not simply forgive his brothers of what they did, he did forgive them, for he saw that it was God that worked through them to bring about the desired end. So whatever circumstance you might find yourself in, place yourself in God’s hand, and trust him. Today may not be in any way desirable, but if you decide to trust God and place your confidence in him, in due time he will reward all those that followed him to his Honor and Glory. Amen.
To God be the Glory
