God's Way, or No Way

Today's verse is Galatians 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

We have a book, which has been written by over 40 men, containing 66 different books, having been written over the span of 1500 or so years. Everything that we receive needs to be compared to this book. All that we know, or think we know is to be tested by this book, and everything that is in disagreement with it is to be discarded as untrue. This passage focuses on the Gospel, or the way to please God, and enter a relationship with him. There are two possibilities for this to occur. The way of Cain, bringing our own works hoping that they might please the  most Holy and Righteous God, or by the way of Abel, accepting the way God had set, and following that. God’s way is unique: it is the only way that looks to God for an unholy, and unrighteous, sinful man might find himself standing in the presence of that same Righteous and Holy God. And this way is through his only begotten Son, who shed his blood, in the place of the sinner, that the sinner might boldly come to the Father through the Son. Selah [Think about this.] Amen.
