God Guides Us According To Our Ability To Trust

Today's verse is Genesis 13:17
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

As we follow our God, he knows us, he knows what is too much for us, he knows what we can handle. Here God take Israel through the longer way, that Israel not see war in their first steps. Yet even as they are taken the “easier way” they find reason to complain. For every hardship they face, the first thing they do is mummer, and the second thing they do is complain, and the last thing they do is trust, and often completely forgetting to do that. I know that in me, is the propensity to do the same, to turn from God for the slightest excuse, but our God is truly good, and he is truly worthy of our trust, so as you find yourself turning from him, if you can stop, and decide instead to place your trust in him, and even ask him what he plans to do. If you will do this, he will give you reasons to rejoice, and Magnify his Name. Amen.
