The Proper Use of The Heart
Today's verse is Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
I am sure you have all heard the saying, “follow your heart.” Thus is the council of the world, and as we can see from this verse, It will lead you into the ways of death. But consider what God says just two verses earlier: “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.” This is the way, and this is where we need to find our guide. Is there something you desire, Seek God’s face, look to him for a yea or nay, and trust not in your own heart. Indeed, above all, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;/ And lean not unto thine own understanding./ In all thy ways acknowledge him,/ And he shall direct thy paths.” Then, we can be sure that whatsoever we do shall prosper. Amen.
To God be the Glory

We follow God's heart not our own, if we follow our own heart it will lead down the wrong path, if we follow God's heart it will lead us the right path that God wants us to go.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, and what is God's Heart? What is his Passion?
