The Value of the Gospel

Today's verse is Philippians 1:12
But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

The things that have happened to Paul, whipped and imprisoned, not to mention all that he lists elsewhere, all were done that the gospel of Jesus Christ might be so much more broadcasted though out the known world. Such is the value and importance of the message we have, that Paul thought it of no consequence the perils and troubles and turmoil that he faced, if but one more should hear of that Great News, that Jesus Christ died for sinners, of which I, like Paul am among the chief. Let us therefore consider Paul's example and seek to emulate it, and hold the cross of Christ and its message of more value than anything we might suffer for it. Amen.
