Judgment Coming. . .

Today's verse is Isaiah 5:24
Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble,
And the flame consumeth the chaff,
So their root shall be as rottenness,
And their blossom shall go up as dust:
Because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts,
And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Is there anywhere today, where the Word of God is truly held in awe? Is there any Nation today that holds the values contained in the law of God? I know by God’s grace that there are pockets here and there of individuals who have placed their trust in Jesus Christ, because of the promises of his Word; therefore, God has his remnant. As a whole though, this world has turned its back on God and judgment is coming. But consider this, we still have some time, and we have a message. In this passage we are told why judgment is coming, and thus the means to escape it: A returning to observance of God’s Word. And what is God’s law all about? Pointing us to the work of Jesus Christ. First of his dying in our place, then for those that receive him, working in them that they will be truly made into his image. So as Paul said, knowing the terror of the Lord, let us persuade men of the Grace of God on their behalf. Amen.
