Apparrent Undeserved Hardtimes
Today's verse is Psalm 44:8-9
In God we boast all the day long,
And praise thy name for ever. Selah.
But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame;
And goest not forth with our armies.
In this psalm the writer starts out remembering the works God has done with Israel in times past. Then here between these two verses makes a transition from the blessing God has given in the past with unaccounted for hardships or curses. So too should we not be surprised at such times. In this psalm the writer does not come to any conclusion but this: He continues to believe in the goodness of God; he continues to seek for God’s deliverance. He refuses to stop trusting in God. If--when--we face such times we need to do the same. God cannot stop being Good, and we can trust in his purpose, and we can trust that “all things will work together for good.” Selah [think about this.] Amen.
