Do You Hunger For God's Word?

 

Today's verse is John 17:17

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 

    It cannot be stressed enough the importance of the Word of God to the believer, to those who have trusted in the Work that Jesus Christ has done for them. As we see in this verse, it is by the truth found only in the Word of God that we can be sanctified. It is also only by God’s Word we can truly learn of him, who he is, what he desires, for we find both here, and Peter confirms it, that it by Knowing the Father we have life eternal, and we know the Father, because we have met the Son. All of this, by his Word. Therefore, let us seek out and search the Scriptures, and devour them, till he comes, that we might truly Know the one True God, and his Son. Amen.
