A Worst Thing?

 

Today's verse is John 5:14

Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. 

   Too often, we are more concerned with the outer appearance, or the physical, or even what is in it for me. But, God is more interested in the inner man, what is your motive for this or for that. Just because we have received a blessing that can be seen outwardly, does not mean that we have recieved that more important gift. Consider, and examine yourself, why do you do the things you do? Is it so others can see you? or is it for what you can get from it? The only motive that God will accept, the only motive he can accept, is that you have seen a glimpse of him, and you have seen that he alone is worthy, in and of himself. So what will ye? Will you seek your own? Or, will you seek Him? Amen.
