Why Separation?

Today's verse is Ezra 4:1-3
     Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel;
     Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.
     But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.

We see here a principle that is rarely observed today, when most are crying about getting along with one another, but as we see here in Ezra, those that are coming saying that they want to help, they are actually there to hinder the work God has set us to. So as we see also see today, if they cannot hinder by helping, they use every means they have to stop the work, all the while they are claiming that they just want every one to get along.  This is why, we are to be separate, and to separate ourselves from those that profess to know God, but do not. It is a fine line, for our Work is to proclaim the Work of Jesus Christ, but even Paul was troubled by the one possessed proclaiming that he and Silas were the ones with the knowledge of the way of salvation. So let us take care, and receive all those that truly come in the Name of Jesus Christ, having received his gift of Salvation through his blood, rejecting those that come falsely to deceive, that we may have the blessing of God upon us. Amen.
