Today's Verse is 2 Samuel 13:21
But when king David heard of all these things, he was very wroth.
In this, turning the other cheek was not appropriate. David has King, was responsible for all of the Justice which was to be done in Israel. Yet, for the “love” he had for his children, in his wrath, he did nothing! Even Eli, the HIgh Priest, whose sons defiled their office at least made an attempt (though in vain) to rebuke his sons, whereas we have no record David did even this. In this, David, did not follow the example of Abraham, in that he valued his children, even Amnon, over his relationship, even his responsibilities to God. He did not exercise any form of Judgment in regards to Amnon’s transgression. There were several possible sentences David could have exercised, can you figure out what they were? Amen.
