Today's verse is Isaiah 63:18-19
The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while:
Our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.
We are thine: thou never barest rule over them;
They were not called by thy name.
Let us first consider who is present in these two verses. We are thine: include not only Israel here (they are included) but also all those who are of the Faith of Abraham, that is all we who have trusted Jesus Christ, all we who have been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. Then there is the Adversaries: All of those that have rejected the rule of the True King, that know not the God that made them, who know not of the Gift that he had prepared for them, and yet they have rejected it. Then let us consider the time: God’s people (I believe this speaks of Israel) have erred, they have not known his Son, yet they possess the Land of their inheritance but for a little while (how about less then a hundred years since they have reformed as a nation,) but the place of the Temple is possessed by others who bare no allegiance to the Great God, Creator of all. And Finally, what are we to do: We are to remember, that our God, even the Great God, had delivered his people, Israel, from Egypt, and we are to ask and look for him once again to do the same, even as he has promised. Amen.
To God be the Glory
Amen
